Calgary STEM is committed to leading individuals to where they can learn about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The magazine will inform readers of STEM events throughout Calgary, and will give a description of some of these events after they have happened.
There are many events throughout Calgary from which one can learn about STEM, including the following: Beakerhead, talks at the Orpheus Theatre, special events at the Telus Spark Museum, robotics events, and STEM club events within the colleges and universities. Calgary STEM will live blog and cover some of these events.
The main age range Calgary STEM tries to reach is 15-35: teenagers, college students, young adults, and young parents. Calgary STEM is for people in Calgary who have a like-minded interest in STEM.
The content includes a mix of features and news articles covering events. Calgary STEM strives to have new content out every couple of weeks, with frequency varying depending on the frequency of events.
Calgary STEM’s image is that of an educator, working to teach the community and encourage an interest in STEM. The design of the website is in line with the image of current technology.
This publication is one of a kind, as it is both a resource to link the community with STEM events, and it is a method of teaching the community about STEM.
