When I started this blog in University, I intended to use it as a landing page for the many many news articles I would right.
Well, here I am years later and only having journalism stories up from my time at University and slightly after. Circumstances happened, plans changed, and I realized that Journalism wasn’t what I wanted to do long-term.
Instead, I enrolled in University and pursued a degree in Education…specifically with a focus in Physics. This has been quite the jump from journalism, to say the least, but I’m glad I did it. There’s no way 17 or 18 year olds fresh out of high school know exactly what they will be doing for the next several decades of their lives. Learning experiences and personal growth have shaped my learning journey in a way I never would have imagined. And who’s to say what will happen next.
But for now, I’m pressing forward in the field of education, thoroughly enjoying the many courses and fields I get to dabble in each new semester. I have archived several of my old articles I had on here, but if you want to view my work from while I was with the High River Times and Nanton News, please check out my section on their webpage here.
On top of all of that, I am keeping up with my writing in the form of creative writing (short stories and novels). More on that to come đŸ˜‰
Cheers,
Lydia
